Spurs fan wants his daughter to support Arsenal because of Jose… and may do the same

Tottenham’s latest ‘season of woes’ is so bad that one Spurs fan wants his daughter to support Arsenal instead!

Spurs have won only three of their last 13 Premier League matches as Jose Mourinho’s side languish in ninth place.

Mourinho is under pressure to deliver silverware at Tottenham

Gaz called talkSPORT to insist he ‘was never a Mourinho fan’ and would not even mind if his 12-year-old daughter Emma switched allegiances to the red half of north London.

“What’s wrong with Spurs?,” Gaz started as he joined the Sports Bar. “Mourinho! They’ve gone stale.

“All this hype when we went top of the table in December… I was never a Mourinho fan, I didn’t want him there from the start.

“Top of the table in December? forget that! It’s another season of woes.

“My poor daughter now supports Spurs, and I said to her, ‘you need to change your team!’ Anyone but Spurs.”

Tottenham have not a won a trophy since lifting the League Cup in 2008.

Mourinho has the chance alleviate some of the pressure when his side face Man City in the Carabao Cup final in April, but Pep Guardiola’s side are favourites and currently on a menacing 18-match winning run.

Gaz claims he would tell his daughter to ‘go for it’ if she wanted to support Tottenham’s arch rivals Arsenal.

talkSPORT host Andy Goldstein asked: “Knowing the heartache you think your nearly 13-year-old daughter could be going through over the next five, 10, 15, 20 years of her life, if she said to you, ‘yes or no, dad, should I support Arsenal from now on?’, what would you say?

Gaz replied: “That’s a tough one because my friend is a big Arsenal fan.

“I’d say, ‘yeah, go for it’. We’re always going to be a nearly team.”

Jamie O’Hara believes Tottenham are in for another trophyless season. Claims Jose Mourinho doesn’t know his best team and brands defence an ‘absolute shambles’

Goldstein jovially called Gaz’s admission a ‘disgrace, while co-host Jason Cundy branded it ‘disgusting’.

When asked why he does not follow his own advice by switching teams and supporting Arsenal, Gaz said: “Well, I think I might do!

“If Mourinho stays, that’s Spurs gone for me, I’ll start supporting another club!”
